Recommended for Grade K This is a collection of materials to support the Sand Centre in the Kindergarten Program. The materials will provide opportunities for children to explore, investigate and problem solve around the common properties of sand eg. using a sieve to watch the flow of sand and forms of technology, eg. a sand wheel. As teachers observe and interact with the children they will discover many uses and activities for the materials in this box. For suggestions please refer to the document, Sand in the Kindergarten Program, (Toronto District School Board, 2001) included in this kit.

Although this kit contains a specific manual, the materials and equipment provided will support a variety of the science and technology programs.
