Hamza learns why bubbles are always round and what is special about a spherical shape. Spheres in nature include pearls and eyeballs. Deconstruction reveals that a sphere is a three dimensional circle. Investigators look for spheres around them and find: golf balls, planets and stars, disco ball, an orange, soap bubbles and a globe. Ball bearings are spheres hidden inside manufactured things to help them move smoothly. We learn that gravity causes the earth to be spherical in shape, that a circumference is the distance around a circle or a sphere, that spheres are strong shapes (example bubble wrap), and that a sphere is the shape with the least amount of surface area.
