Here's a cool property of solid shapes. We start with a cube: there are 6 faces, 8 vertices, and 12 edges. When you add the number of faces to the number of vertices (corner points) and subtract the number of edges you get 2.  With a triangle-based prism, and a rectangular-based pyramid the rule, called Euler's Rule, applies as well. You try it! Look for three dimensional objects around you and see if the relationship holds.
