Signed January 29, 2016, the historical Great Bear Land Use Order protects 85% of the 'Great Bear Rainforest', an important step in reconciliation. The Heiltsuk are the stewards of everything in their territory and relationship to place is inherent in their homeland traditions. Land use decision making in their traditional territory is once more in local indigenous hands. The Coastal First Nations Alliance has tribes working collaboratively on land use decisions, preserving their piece of paradise.
