As the mother of two young boys, Miranda Burrell had gained a lot of weight and was feeling unwell and dissatisfied with life as she struggled through a divorce.  Then, as a single mom, Miranda experienced domestic violence. She truly wanted better for herself and her children. In 2012, Miranda began her journey toward wellness through Muay Thai, a martial art. Initially she had hoped to improve her overall fitness and felt that Muay Thai would be an enjoyable way to do so. Training was demanding and intense but almost immediately, she felt improvements in both her mental and physical wellness. As her self-confidence started to soar, Miranda became increasingly empowered as a woman and finished her degree in sociology. She then began to take what she had learned to the next level by teaching Muay Thai. In September 2018, Miranda won her first endorsed match at SHEFights II in Toronto, Ontario. Although she felt that she had reached an important milestone, Miranda believes her greatest achievement to be that of empowering other women who struggle with low self-confidence and domestic abuse. "Fight Like a Woman: Miranda's Journey" combines slow-motion footage of Miranda's winning match against Tina Foster and Miranda's powerful narrative about her journey with Muay Thai.
