Hard-drinking, chain-smoking Ludvik spends his nights smuggling illegal refugees in his van from Croatia, across Slovenia, and into Italy. The young and inexperienced Rudi is his new assistant. Together they cope with life in a rundown town, home to the only nuclear power plant in former Yugoslavia.
