Every New York City public school is capable of supporting an excellent arts program in which arts specialists are key players, the school community is actively involved, and the resources of the city’s cultural community are maximized. The recent changes in the New York City public schools have afforded an opportunity to make the arts central to the education that all children receive, regardless of the school they attend.
