The atomic bombing of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 was a moment that changed the world. The deep secrets of nature had been revealed. The power that fuelled the stars had been unleashed and turned into a lethal technology. The image of 'Little Boy's' fury has been seen so many times that many have become numb to its power and devastation. This new program aims to change that by presenting the story of the first atomic bomb from two personal and distinctly different points of view; the moment-by-moment testimony from those who were hit hardest by that weapon - the survivors; and the written reports of the US government's scientists and military personnel who were dispatched to Hiroshima to analyze first-hand the power of this new weapon their country had dropped on a city and its people.
