At the end of this activity, students should be able to describe the morphology of vascular tissues û the xylem and phloem, demonstrate the adaptation of a root for the absorption of water and dissolved mineral salts, describe the pathway of water transport in root cells, determine the factors that cause flow of water in vessels, and explain how transport takes place in phloem.
