As numbers of African Penguins decline in southern Africa, the charismatic species has found a stronghold on two islands in Algoa Bay. This is the story of the penguins' daily struggle to raise families in an unforgiving and often hostile environment. Their ancient burrows destroyed by human prospectors, these devoted parents must rear chicks exposed to the elements, while taking turns to go on exhausting fishing expeditions to feed their family. Thanks to their dedication, and some innovation by conservationists, the penguins of Algoa Bay have stopped the slide towards extinction.
