In the animal kingdom, families pitch in to help raise baby baboons, penguins, capybaras, and Emperor tamarins. From households big and small these animals are taught the skills they will need as adults. In zoos we can observe family behavior in these different animal groups, including courtship behaviors, social structure, parenting styles, methods of communication and defense.
