Liuwa Plains: A remote grassland, one of Africa's last wild places. Located in the far west of Zambia on the border with Angola, Liuwa Plains is an ecosystem in recovery from decades of conflict and hunting. It's a place of extremes. For half the year, it's a dry barren plain where only the toughest survive. And for the other half, it's a paradise of waterholes, and a vast green open space full of wildebeest.
