At their camp in the Abitibi woods, Émilie and Norman share a meal and their knowledge of the Anishinaabe language. Émilie is concerned that their young people are speaking French instead of Anishinaabemowin today. Norman feels alive when he speaks their language as they recover from what they were taught at residential schools. Anishinaabemowin changes the way of thinking; it is a connection to the land and the Creator. Kiticikicewinan (My Language) (2019) is her directorial debut with Wapikoni. Knowledge transmission of her culture and language matter a lot to her. She participated in a documentary film about the Anishinabe language. She also wrote books in Anishinaabemowin that can be borrowed from the Migwan School in Pikogan.
