As wildfires rage across British Columbia, one community defies an evacuation order and stands its ground as a wall of flame approaches. "We've fought fire generation after generation after generation," said Chief Alphonse, Chief of Tlet'inqox and Chair of the Tsilhqot'in National Government. The conflict was resolved when Alphonse decided to pool his community resources to work hand in hand with the province. He said to his firefighters, "Today, when you guys go out on that fire, and you fight that fire, you're protecting our community, you're protecting our women, you're protecting our children and our elders... That's what warriors do. That's the definition of a warrior."
