Charlie Halliday, an Arctic bush pilot, is convinced by a group of Inuit aboriginals to transport a sick girl, Kannalaq, to hospital. When Charlie's engine explodes, the two are left on their own in the frozen wilds, where the hot-shot Charlie learns from the simple Inuit girl the true meaning of life and survival.
