Famous critic Stasov wrote that Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka is as significant to Russian music, as Pushkin is to poetry. According to him, both of them are great talents, both created new Russian language û one in poetry, another in music. At the end of the 20th century, his Patriotic Song was a national Russian anthem for almost ten years.
