On South Africa's west coast, cape fur seals emerge onto solid ground to form huge breeding colonies and reproduce. For pups that can't yet swim, it's a challenging start to life as they battle heat, hunger, congestion and ocean storms. It's a testing start to life. In time, those that survive will take to the water and join the multitude of creatures that surround them in some of the world's most productive waters.
