High in the mountain forests of the Western Ghats in India lives a rare species of monkey: the Lion-tailed macaque. Rajan is the powerful and courageous alpha male who sits at the head of an unusually large troop. He has done well to sustain such a big group, but the future doesn't look so bright. There are more mouths to feed, and yet his jungle home is shrinking. With tea plantations surrounding his territory, there's no room to expand. The monsoon fruit - an essential seasonal bounty - is yet to appear. So Rajan must lead his troop on a mission into the unknown to find food. They descend from the trees and enter a very dangerous world. The troop confronts many perils, but ultimately finds salvation in the most unlikely of places.
