Southern Yukon's Carcross Desert, the world's smallest desert, originated when ancient glacial action created dunes, now home to a unique ecosystem and some rare plants. Yukon Wildlife Preserve Maria Hallock discusses the wildlife that is found in this harsh climate, from tiny hares to the mighty muskox. Here is found the only northern centre for injured and orphaned wildlife; a high tech operation provides examining areas and incubators for eggs that will ultimately feed injured animals.
