The James Bay Cree value the importance of their culture in an ever-changing world. Craftsmen are shown making snowshoes using birch, tamarack and poplar wood as well as caribou, bear, and moose hide and seal skin. They still use traditional techniques and the elders' hands show how hard they have worked in their lives. Biography: Dinah Sam is an artist from the Cree community of Chisasibi in the James Bay region of Quebec. She is passionate about her Cree traditions and her art. She enjoys spending time at camp, hunting, fishing and being outdoors but also sowing and making things with hides and pelts. Cree narration with English subtitles.
