At the end of this activity, students should be able to explain why enzymatic methods are better than chemical methods in determining the substances found in body fluids, present an enzymatic method for determining glucose concentration, explain how a biosensor operates, present several uses of the ELISA technique and explain how it functions, as well as explain how determining the quantity of certain enzymes in the blood is helpful in diagnosing organ damage and present examples of enzymes used to diagnose diseases.
