Some mollusks have a mantle to protect them, like snails with a shell while some have two mantels called bivalves. Mollusk shells can be very colourful and have dotted and striped patterns. They also have a single foot that helps them move by expanding and contracting. Some bivalves do not move and stay attached to rocks. Mollusks with soft bodies move by forcing water out of a structure called a funnel.
