There are hundreds of thousands of species of arachnids. They are predators of insects and other invertebrates. The exception is mini mites, which feed on all sorts of things such as fungus, plants, dead animals, and bacteria. Most arachnids eat smaller arthropods. They do not have jaws, so they tear their food up into small pieces and then use digestive fluids to break it down.
