In the Treaty 6 territory of Saskatchewan, a young couple, Andrea and Colby, who teach and do workshops to heal their community, narrate a message to their young daughter River-Jaxsen. The message, read from letters and journal entries that they have written to her since her birth, is filled with hope but also the challenges they face as a young Indigenous family relearning traditional kinship models to raise a healthy family. Their insightful messages reflect the hopes and dreams of a new generation of Indigenous parents who are fighting to heal colonial trauma and raise the next generation. BIO: Candy Renae Fox is a Cree actress and film director from Piapot First Nation in Treaty 4 Territory, Saskatchewan. She has acted off and on for about 15 years, beginning in film and television. Chris Ross is a filmmaker and President of IndigenX Media, the first Indigenous Advertising Agency in SK.
