Anybody can be a dinosaur hunter in the Alberta badlands if they are doing surface collecting only, and on public land. Amateur fossil hunter, Bill Bloss has a collection of dinosaur teeth and claws found as he pursues his passion in his retirement years. He reported finding an articulated dinosaur leg to paleontologists at the Tyrrell Museum and a crew recovered what was part of a young tyrannosaur. The museum specializes in western Canadian dinosaurs, and researchers are working on cutting edge paleontology, and technicians work on a mummified dinosaur that still has skin impressions. Field workers find new sites, excavate specimens, and use them for research and display. Low-tech field work technologies, complimented by new hi-tech lab technologies are leading to exciting new discoveries.
