Getting Loopy Small Time introduces short loops and the joining with tall loops. Gom opens a letter from Bartleby and finds Bartleby deep-sea diving in the South Seas, where he is hunting for treasures. He finds a treasure--as well as an electric eel! This program continues with a short version of "Two Feet Flat On the Floor." The writing practice includes: reinforcement for measuring margins using the index finger, "short loops" which is the letter "e," and groups of five short loops. Joining the letter "e" with the tall loop or letter "l" from the previous program forms the words "eel" and "lee." Teachers may want to have students complete each practice row then analyze which letter looks best and use the "Circle Your Best" strategy.
