The Women's Suffrage Procession of 1913 changed how Americans. The day before Woodrow Wilson's inauguration, thousands of suffragists led by Inez Milholland staged the largest political demonstration Washington had ever seen. They proceeded down Pennsylvania Avenue past the White House despite attacks from male protesters, energizing the Women's Suffrage Movement. Seven years later Congress finally granted women the right to vote in the US.
