From the Canada/US border at Campobello Island (the former summer home of President Franklin D. Roosevelt) we begin a journey southwest - exploring the rugged, remote Maine coastline. Maine is unique on the Eastern seaboard - featuring vast expanses of untouched land - dotted with a mix of downeast shanty - towns, and vacation estates of the rich and famous. From high above, we explore the scenic towns of Lubec and Castine - as well as the natural splendor of Acadia National Park. On the ground, we reveal a wooden boat legacy on the shores of Brooklin - while further south still, we explore the Bath Iron works and the city of Portland. Finally - we complete our journey at Kennebunkport - a spectacular Maine getaway - and summer home to another former US Presiden - George H. W. Bush.
