Felix Lope de Vega Carpio (1562 û 1635) û the most famous Spanish playwright, poet and prose writer. The author of more than 2,000 plays, but only 425 survived to the present day. The plays of Lope de Vega addressed various themes: sociopolitical dramas, historical chronicles and love stories. In his numerous comedies, Lope de Vega shows the genial talent of a comic writer.
