At the end of this activity, students should be able to: - discuss the structure of soil - name the basic elements essential for plants and discuss their effect on plants - give natural and artificial sources of these elements - describe the processes for preparing basic artificial fertilizers containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium - describe the effect of fertilizers on water basins or reservoirs, and ways of preventing the pollution of surface water with fertilizers.
