After beating out 16 candidates in the Republican Primary and securing 304 electoral college votes, Donald John Trump became the 45th President of the United States. The program begins by comparing the contentious 2016 campaign to the surprisingly nasty and controversial presidential election of 1800 between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. It focuses on the significance of Inauguration Day and the importance of the peaceful transition of power, which is the hallmark of our Democracy.
