A child and his/her Cree grandmother walk to the park and experience nature. Story shares both the role of nature in Cree Indian life as expressed by the Kokum but also the feelings of the grandchild who is uncomfortable with Kokum's ways which do not fit into the urban non-Cree society they live in.

Book is the culmination of Joyce Public School's grade 3 students involvement in the Multiliteracies Project - the teachers had planned a unit of study around Native Cultures & their contributions to society. Suzanne & Vanessa came to the school and worked with the students to create the book. The art work was done by the students with the assistance of Vanessa.
