At the cottage with her mother and her cousin Elizabeth in the summer of 1971, fifteen-year-old Darlene, trying to figure out who she is, finds herself increasingly drawn to free-spirited strangers renting a cottage down the road while Elizabeth makes it her summer mission to torment Darlene.
