Rhinoceros: a three part play about a small town in France where the inhabitants turn into Rhinoceroses. After the disease breaks out people slowly give into the rhinos and allow themselves to be transformed. In the end the alcoholic man from the beginning is the only survivor, and has to cope with being the only human in his local area. The chairs: In a house on an island a very old couple pass their time with private games and half-remembered stories. The lesson: a timid professor uses the meaning he assigns to words to establish tyrannical dominance over an eager female student.
