Susan is fed up with her family and hates helping the house, but she soon finds that helping Hercules clean out the Augean stables is much, much worse than tidying her room. She is drawn into a series of hair-raising adventures, following Orpheus down into the Underworld, helping Paris as he dithers between three angry goddesses, riding on the winged horse Pegasus to the home of the gods, and narrowly missing being turned to stone by Medusa.
