This unusual children's book uses simple text and vibrant illustrations to describe the time near the end of World War II when the Royal Canadian Air Force helped feed the starving people of Holland by "bombing" them with food bundles. Bad Penny was the first Lancaster bomber used in this dangerous mission dubbed "Operation Manna." Like the old expression, "A bad penny always comes back", she always returned from each mission.
