This 4-part series reveals the many challenges faced by immigrants who leave all they know to make a new home in Canada. It explores issues of identity, language, discrimination, and employment, incorporating discussion, interview and dramatic re-enactments to tell the immigrants' story. The intent of the series is to awaken Canadian society to the shared hardships newcomers face when striving to settle in Canada. The series puts a human face on the immigrant experience and illustrates the newcomer's frustrations, worries and progress toward becoming full participants in Canadian society.
