The Alphabet is Lynch's answer to the teachings of the alphabet on children's shows like Sesame Street, and the fear and pain connected with learning. In The Grandmother an abused and trouble young boy plants some strange seeds and they grow into a grandmother. Short and surreal, it is David Lynch's third film.
