The primary purpose of school self assessment is school improvement. What is critical, however, is that schools shape their school assessment and improvement process in a way that makes sense for them. School leaders, along with their teachers and support staff, need to see school self-evaluation as a series of positive steps that lead to a successful school community. As you work through this book, you will prepare a clear, evidence-based assessment of your school. This assessment will contain all the important contexts, processes, and results that describe your school community.
