This suite presents 3 selections from different periods of Beethoven's live. They were orginally scored for beginning pianists (presumably for his own students) and may have been based on upon folk songs with which he was familiar. Contrary to the prevailing mood of so much of Beethoven's most familiar works, the styles here are playful and jocular.
