During World War II, 10 000 children from British were sent to Canada and other nations away from the war zone. Grace and William Chambers are two guest children, who cross the ocean and meet Aileen Rogers, a nurse serving on the homefront, with her is Teddy the stuffed bear. When William and Grace disembark at their host's praire farm, their stuffed friend goes with them.
