Rukia Kuchiki, the ex-Soul Reaper responsible for Ichigo's transformation, is on the run from her associates at the Soul Society who are upset because she transferred the powers of a Soul Reaper to a human so they send out two of their strongest agents to return Rukia to the Soul Society to stand trial, and to contend with Ichigo but Uryu Ishida, the Quincy, stands in their way.
