Beginning with the ancient civilizations of the Olmec, follow the Spanish conquest of the great Aztec, the impact of Catholic missionaries and the wars for independence fought with other countries, as well as within Mexico's own borders. Understand the contributions of great leaders such as Father Hidalgo and Benito Jurez, and see why freedom has been so important to this proud nation.
