Because Egyptians in the Ancient Era believed their pharaohs to be gods, they built monumental structures in which to bury and celebrate them as immortal. We witness the amazing technologies of the oldest tomb for Thutmose I and of temples in the Valley of Kings, such as Hatshepsut's. We also marvel at the scale of the temple at Karnak, of Ramses the Great's statues at Abu Simbel, of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, and of the Sphinx, all of which, ironically, were defaced and vandalized after completion. Includes teacher segment.
