All rocks are inorganic. They are made up of different combinations of minerals; have different colours, textures and hardnesses; and are used in a variety of ways. Much of the Earth's crust is made up of rocks and minerals that form naturally inside and on top of the Earth's crust. This program looks at the different formation of the three kinds of rock -- sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic; ways to identify them; and examples of each.
