In 2014, Canada became one of the first countries to introduce the law on cyberbullying, also called Rehtaeh’s Law. NO PLACE TO HIDE: The Rehtaeh Parsons Story is the story of a teenage girl from Halifax, Nova Scotia, who decided to end her life on April 7, 2013. The suicide was her permanent solution to the problem of being cyberbullied and harassed over the online distribution of a photo taken during an alleged gang-rape that occurred when she was extremely drunk. As a retelling of one of Canada’s most shocking failures, this is a case that shook Canada and the world. The film reveals the far reaching effects of cyberbullying, and the extent of rape culture and victim blaming û all borne by one girl, Rehtaeh Parsons.
