Later they meet up with Erin, a math graduate student who asks them to squash a square and a triangle made of balsa wood. It’s much harder to squash the pyramid because of the way it withstands pressure. CHALLENGE: Teams have to make three giant pyramids: one with a square base, one with a triangle base, and one with a pentagon base. It’s tricky because Hamza has spread all the pieces across a field, creating a forest of triangles. Kids need to find all their triangles and match them to the correct base before they can build. Then the kids need to form their own human pyramid, to find out why the ones on the bottom don’t get squished.
