As a class, the students will discuss the term “rights” and how it applies to them personally, in the classroom, locally, and globally in the world. The students will also learn that for every right there is a responsibility. The Convention on Rights of the Child will be presented and used as a springboard to examine why it’s important that children around the world have the same rights in order to reach their full potential. Through a variety of activities, students will gain an in-depth knowledge of the Convention and work towards the culminating goal of active citizenship and creating change.
