Stand up for children’s rights is based around the story of Anna, a young person learning about the rights of children. The resource offers guidance on how to use Anna’s experiences to develop young people’s awareness of their rights. A flexible toolkit of accompanying activities leads young people to explore the people and policies in place in their communities to protect children’s rights. We hope that this resource will help you in your work supporting young people to stand up for their rights and the rights of others. Stand up for children’s rights is for teachers of students aged 11-16. It can be used in politics, civics, social studies, citizenship, religious education, or any other subject in which children’s rights are taught: it can also be used by youth leaders and other facilitators working with children in this age group.
