Ruby is thrilled when her aunt's dachshund has puppies. And her parents have a wonderful surprise--she gets to keep one! Ruby knows who to pick right away--the sweet puppy she's already named Toby. Ruby loves playing with Toby and can't wait to take him on walks--they'll have so much fun! But on an outing to the woods, Toby's curious nature gets the better of him and he runs off in search of adventure. Soon he is lost, frightened and all alone.
